Crystal Rocks
This is how we make, store and sell wet crystal rocks in our stores. I do not measure when mixing these crystal rocks and have never messed them up. If you add too much oil, add more rocks. Too many rocks, just add more oil. Diffuser base makes the rocks shine and last longer. Again, it is hard to make a mistake. This is not an exact science. These have been a very big hit with our retail customers.
When we mix our Crystal Rocks they look like colorful crushed ice with a shine. And what a fragrance throw! When you use these in electric tart warmers-oil burners you will be amazed at how strong the fragrance will be. The rocks do not melt in the warmers. They last several days, and in some cases, weeks, depending on how long you leave the warmer on each day, how high you have it turned up, how much fragrance oil you use and what fragrance you pick. Some fragrances just last longer.
How to make wet crystal rocks: Using a 1 pound bag of crystal rocks, we use 1-4 ounces of fragrance oil and just a little diffuser base. We pour all ingredients in a glass bowl or poly container (look on the bottom of the bowl or container for a triangle with the letters pp) and mix.
They will absorb some of the fragrance oil immediately but should still have enough left to be wet. Use right away or cover and store for weeks. The color of the rocks might mix with the scented oil. This is normal.
When using in electric warmers be sure the dish is cool. Then you may add more fragrance oil to refresh the crystal rocks. Change the rocks after using about 1/2 ounce more oil. Do not use water with the rocks. We sell small poly tubes in our supply catalog.
The size of the crystals vary with the largest about the size of pebbles or small peas. The loose crystal rocks below were photographed with fragrance oil and diffuser base.
Remember, scented fragrance oils and dye do not like plastic, wood, painted surfaces, etc..... so use caution with crystal rocks and fragrance oils. Always store and sell in glass or poly containers. We accept no responsible for products made with our supplies.
